Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said in response to a question in the National Parliament session that the government is trying its best to keep the country's economy alive despite the economic recession caused by the Corona epidemic and the Ukraine-Russia war. He gave this information in response to Abdul Latif's question in the Jatiya Sangsad on Wednesday. Speaker Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury chaired the question and answer table.

In response to Syed Abu Hussain's question, the Prime Minister highlighted various steps taken by the government to control the prices of daily commodities. He said that as a result of the government's activities, it was possible to control the prices of daily necessities and the poor people were benefiting from it.
He said that due to the corona epidemic and Russia-Ukraine war, recession, inflation and instability occurred in the global economy. As a result, our government has been able to deal with the negative impact on the country's economy and quickly bring the economy back to the pre-corona high growth path.
Despite the severe crisis of Corona, our growth in the fiscal year 2019-20 was 3.45 percent which was one of the highest in the world at that time.
He said that as a result of various measures taken by the government to strengthen the economy, the GDP growth in the fiscal year 2020-21 was 6.94 percent. It further increased to 7.10 percent in FY 2021-22.
At this time, he highlighted various measures taken by the government to keep the economy alive. Notable among these are government expenditure rationalization, social security, electricity-fuel and agriculture sector subsidies, export incentives, increase in remittance flow, monetary policy etc.
Dr. In response to Rustam Ali Faraji's question, he said that it will be possible to start rail traffic on Dhaka-Mawa-Bhanga section of Padma Bridge Rail Link Project by September 2023 and Bhanga to Jessore section by June 2024.
