Several stars from the showbiz world of Bangladesh were supposed to attend the event.
Later, incidents like snakes coming out to dig up ketchup came out. It is known that the owner of the jewelery shop is an absconding accused in the murder case.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence Police Motijheel Division (Khilgaon Zone). Shahidur Rahman told the media workers that the owner of the jeweler, Arav Khan alias Rabiul Islam, inspector of the special branch of the police, Mamun, is an absconding accused in the murder case of Imran Khan. Meanwhile, Shakib's participation in the opening ceremony could not be confirmed until 6:30 pm local time in Dubai after the controversy started over the event. Media workers tried to contact Shakib Al Hasan to know about the related issues. However, no information about him was found.
According to DB police sources, police inspector Mamun was murdered on July 7, 2018 in a flat in Banani of the capital. After the murder, the killer Rabiul fled to India. Rabiul hired someone in his name to surrender. The hired man was in jail for 9 months after surrendering. In this case, on April 11, 2019, the detective police submitted a charge sheet against 9 people including Rabiul. The fugitive Rabiul is the son of Motiur Rahmanmolla of Ashutia village of Kotalipara upazila of Gopalganj. He is also known as Apan, Sohag and Hridoy.
DB sources also said that Rabiul collected an Indian passport in 2020. His Indian passport number is U 4985389. Rabiul's name is mentioned as Arav Khan in the passport issued from Calcutta on 28 July that year.
His father's name is Zakir Khan and mother Rehana Bibi Khan. His wife's name is written in the passport as Sajima Nasreen. According to the information given in the passport, Arav was born on 31 July 1993 in Narendrapur, West Bengal. The passport will expire on July 27, 2030.
Those related to the investigation also said that Arav now lives in Dubai. The UAE government granted him a resident permit on October 31, 2021. This permit will expire on October 30 next year.
Looking back at the murder incident:
According to the police, on July 7, 2018, Inspector Mamun went to a house in Banani for a Jasmdin ceremony after being invited by a person named Rahmatullah. Mamun was actually trapped. He was tied to a flat, masked with scotch tape and beaten mercilessly. Mamun died at one stage of torture. The accused in the murder case are - Rahmat Ullah, Rabiul Islam, his wife Suraiya Akhter Kaya, Swapan Sarkar, Didar Pathan, Mizan Sheikh, Atiq Hasan, Sarwar Hossain, Mehrunnisa alias Swarna and Faria Binte Maisa.
According to DB sources, after the murder, Rabiul's identity and address were used. Abu Yusuf surrendered in a Dhaka court on October 20, 2020 and was sent to jail in a murder case. Yusuf agreed in exchange for paying the family every month. At one stage Rabiul stopped giving money to Yusuf's family. Later, Yusuf, through his lawyer, appealed to the court that he was actually Abu Yusuf, not the accused accused in the murder case.
The lawyer told the court that his client Yusuf may have committed the crime due to the lure of money or threats. The court then directed DB to investigate the matter and submit a report. In the investigation, DB found out that Yusuf is a resident of Ainpur of Kachua police station in Chandpur and his father's name is Md. Nuruzzaman and mother's name is Halima Begum.
