Address to the nation: Conspirators are active-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

Commenting that people's rights have been confirmed by voting, Sheikh Hasina said that the democratic process has continued in the country from 2009 to 2022. The right of the people to vote is guaranteed. That is why Bangladesh got the status of developing country.
Shahadat Hossain Reton:
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina pointed out that BNP has employed lobbyists to defame the country by claiming that Zia seized power and killed patriotic soldiers and officers. Bangakanya and Prime Minister in his address to the nation. Said this. He said, there is no shortage of money in the bank, do not create danger by keeping the earned money at home.
Highlighting the country's economy, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the whole world is passing through an unstable economic situation. First, the 2020s fell under the grip of the coronavirus pandemic. It created a deep wound in the world economy. Many countries' economies collapsed. Our economy also suffers. As the country's economy began to recover from the damage caused by the corona pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine war began. This war is not just a war of arms; Added to this is a terrible economic war. The effects of economic warfare are not limited to any single country; spread worldwide. The post-Russia-Ukraine war economic embargo-reciprocal embargo has crippled the world economy. But we have been able to reduce the loss of lives by taking timely measures, we have been able to keep the economy running.
The prime minister said that the descendants of the 71-year-old 'shakunis' and the 75-year-old hyenas are still active. Whenever they get a chance, they wound the country tooth and nail. When ordinary people see that they are good, they get angry. Domestic and foreign conspirators became active. He said these things in his address to the nation yesterday on the occasion of Great Victory Day 2022. His speech was broadcast live on all private televisions including BTV. He said, let's take a collective oath to break the web of conspiracy and take the development progress of Bangladesh further. We fulfill the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by establishing a happy-prosperous non-sectarian Bangladesh.
Sheikh Hasina said that when the country is moving forward, the anti-independence and development groups are trying to create anarchy. After independence Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib banned their politics. After killing the father of the nation and his family, Ziaur Rahman seized power illegally and rehabilitated them in politics. After being resettled, they again started the politics of killing and terror. Another group, born and bred in the cantonment, has only blood stains on its hands. Its founder Ziaur Rahman is directly involved in the assassination plot of the Father of the Nation. Urdi Gaye seized power and killed thousands of patriotic soldiers and officers of the armed forces to perpetuate that power.

Harkatul Jihad, Banglabhai, Jamaitul Mojahideen etc. militant organizations were formed with their direct support. On August 21, 2004, on the orders of the top leadership, they tried to kill me with a grenade attack. I survived but 24 activists died that day. Fires and petrol bombs across the country in 2013 ushered in a new chapter of terrorism that continued into 2015. BNP's top leader booked in orphanage money embezzlement case. Another top fugitive leader has been convicted in money laundering, 10 trucks of arms smuggling and August 21 grenade attack cases. Why do the general public go to vote for them? Having lost faith in the people of the country, BNP-Jamaat has now hired some mercenaries to malign the country to foreigners. Using smuggled money and defaming the country. Due to BNP's corruption, terrorism and misrule, a state of emergency was imposed in the country in 2007. The people of Bangladesh rejected the BNP in the 2008 elections. Out of 300 seats they got only 30 seats. Similarly, in the 2014 and 2018 elections, people did not vote for the BNP-Jamaat alliance. Rejected by the people, they are now conspiring to come to power through undemocratic means.
Commenting that people's rights have been confirmed by voting, Sheikh Hasina said that the democratic process has continued in the country from 2009 to 2022. The right of the people to vote is guaranteed. That is why Bangladesh got the status of developing country. If BNP-Jamaat alliance was in power, Bangladesh would never have made such progress. Now the people have to choose what they want - the continuation of a dignified life or the miserable life of the BNP-Jamaat alliance?
Stating that about 34 crore vaccines have been given free of charge, Sheikh Hasina said that about 34 crore vaccines suitable for vaccination have been given free of charge. So far 14.9 million people have received the first dose, 12.65 million 25 thousand second dose and 6.45 million booster dose. We have announced an incentive package of Tk 1 lakh 87 thousand 679 crore under 28 packages for proper management of production and trade in industries during Corona. Salaries of workers in garments and other industries have been guaranteed. 50 lakh marginalized people have been given cash assistance of two and a half thousand taka in two phases. Among them were people from all walks of life including vehicle workers, shop employees, non-MPO teachers, imams, muezzins, cultural workers. Slum dwellers, poor and low-income people who cannot reach out to others, as soon as they call the hotline number 333, food items including rice and pulses are delivered to their homes. During the coronavirus pandemic, about 73 million 50 thousand people died Around 7 crore 3 lakh 50 thousand people have benefited in various ways during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Prime Minister said that import-dependent countries have suffered the most due to the Ukraine-Russia war and economic sanctions and counter-sanctions by the West. The prices of almost all consumer goods including fuel oil, edible oil, wheat, sugar, maize, pulses, chemical fertilizers have increased at an abnormal rate in the international market. The supply system has collapsed. Transportation costs have increased manifold. Again, to meet their own needs, some countries are stopping the export of products without notice. Wherever in the world the products of our needs are available, we are collecting them and providing them. We have given TCB Fair Prize Cards to 1 Crore families. Through this card, families can procure rice at Tk 30 per kg and affordable edible oil, pulses and sugar. 5 million families can buy 30 kg of rice per month at Tk 15 per kg. The needy people are being given 30 kg of rice free every month through VGD and VGF.
Highlighting the bank's reserves, the Prime Minister said that many people are making false comments about the country's foreign exchange reserves. Only if there is a reserve to cover three months of import expenses. At present, foreign exchange reserves are sufficient to cover five months of import expenditure. Import of heavy machinery, foreign travel and import of other goods were largely stopped during Corona. During that time our reserves increased to $48 billion. Instead of keeping this huge amount of money idle, I created a special fund with some money from it. Some important projects are being implemented with the money from that fund. This loan is being given through Sonali Bank at 2 percent interest rate. House money is coming back home with interest. If this money was borrowed from a foreign bank, it had to be returned with interest at the rate of 4/5 percent. And it had to be paid from the reserve. Another reason for the decrease in our foreign exchange reserves is that we are buying fuel oil, edible oil, wheat, rice, corn and other commodities at high prices from the international market and selling them to the common man at low prices. But panic is being created by spreading rumors that there is no money in the bank. Don't listen to rumours. There is no shortage of money in the bank. Don't risk your hard earned money at home. Our investment, remittance flow and import-export situation are all normal.
Highlighting the development of the country, the Prime Minister said that the country has reached a new height of socio-economic development in 14 years. Bangladesh has been able to join the ranks of developing countries. The country is self-sufficient in food-grain production. The poverty rate has come down from 40 percent to 20 percent. Per capita income increased from $543 to $2,824. Literacy rate has increased from 45 percent to 75 percent. Maternal and infant mortality rates have decreased. These achievements have been possible because the Awami League government has been running the government consistently. He also said that there has been a revolutionary change in the communication infrastructure sector. I have inaugurated the Padma Bridge. This bridge directly connects 19 districts of the southern region with the capital Dhaka and other parts of the country by road. Payra Bridge was inaugurated in October. Last November, 100 bridges in 25 districts of the country were opened for traffic. Many highways in the country have been upgraded to 4 or more lanes. Others are in progress. The tunnel under the river Karnaphuli in Chittagong, the metro rail in Dhaka and a part of the airport-Qutubkhali expressway will be opened for traffic very soon. We are building nuclear power plants and launched satellite Bangabandhu-1.

Showing a dream for the future, Sheikh Hasina said that she will make Bangladesh a smart country by 2041. For this reason, we have formulated the perspective plan 2041 and started its implementation. Commenting that the Awami League government always works for the welfare of the common people, Sheikh Hasina said, in 1996, when the government came into charge, we started providing free houses to homeless families and providing them with training and financial support for their livelihood. In Mujib Barsha, we have declared that no one will be homeless. So far 35 lakh people have been rehabilitated by building free houses. Giving various scholarships and stipends to 2 crore 53 lakh students. Free books are provided every year to all the students till secondary level. He said that electricity has reached every house from the city to the village.
Remembering the contribution of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with respect, the Prime Minister said, I remember those who contributed and sacrificed their lives in the liberation war. On Victory Day, I express my gratitude to the people, individuals and organizations of various countries who helped in the liberation war. A significant number of brave members of the Indian Armed Forces were martyred in the Liberation War. I have deep respect for them. Thanking the then government of India, political leaders and above all the general public who supported our liberation war, sheltered refugees and helped in many ways.
