Imam Hossain Biman, Jhalkathi District Representative:

Remember the much talked about attempt to kill the college student Limon. Limon's mother Henwara Begum has filed a protest against the PBI's final report in the attempted murder case. The complaint was filed in the court of the senior judicial magistrate of Jhalkathi on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 12 noon. The court judge AHM Imrunur Rahman set the date for the hearing on January 3, said Advocate Akkas Sikder, the lawyer of Limon's mother assigned to the Law and Arbitration Center.

It is true that Limon was shot, but there is no eyewitness evidence of who shot him. The case will be revived if evidence is available in the future.

It should be noted that Limon Hossain, who lost a leg in the alleged RAB gunfight, passed HSC in 2013, Honors in Law in 2018, and LLM in 2019. In 2020, Limon Hossain joined the job as an assistant lecturer in the law department of Savar Public University. Limon Hossain told reporters, RAB shot and paralyzed me unjustly. It is true that I have finished my studies with the love of people with much difficulty but I cannot forget the pain of losing my leg. As long as I live I will demand justice for those who crippled me.
According to the documents of the case, on March 23, 2011, the then college student Limon Hossain was shot dead while the members of Barisal RAB-8 were conducting an operation against terrorists in Saturia village of Rajapur Upazila of Jhalkathi. Later, Limon's left leg was amputated from the knee by the doctors at Paralysis Hospital. In this incident, Limon's mother filed a case of attempted murder in Jhalkathi court in the name of six RAB members including DAD of Barisal RAB-8 Lutfar Rahman on April 10, 2011. After investigating the case, SI Abdul Halim Talukdar of Rajapur police station submitted the final report to the court on August 14, 2012 and recommended the release of the RAB members. Limon's mother Henwara Begum filed a complaint against the report on August 30, 2012 in the Jhalkathi Senior Judicial Magistrate Court.
The court dismissed his plea on 13 February 2013. On March 18, 2013, Henwara Begum filed a revision in the court of District and Sessions Judge against the aggrieved dismissal order. On April 1, 2018, Additional District and Sessions Judge SKM Tofail Hasan granted the revision. After the revision was approved, Senior Judicial Magistrate. Salim Reza directed the PBI on April 22, 2018 to investigate the case. After a long investigation, PBI head office Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police. Aminul Islam again submitted the final report to the court on September 17 this year. He mentioned in the report that the fact that Limon was shot was true, but no witness evidence was found as to who shot him. The case will be revived if evidence is available in the future. Because of this, the investigating officer submitted the final report to the court. Limon's mother Henwara Begum filed a complaint in court on Monday against this final report.
Limon's mother claims that her son was not a terrorist. A good boy was shot and crippled by a RAB. He demanded a fair and accurate trial in this incident.
After the incident in 2011, the RAB filed two separate cases against Limon, including eight people, under the Arms Act and obstruction of government work, claiming him as a terrorist. In those two cases, all the accused, including Limon, were acquitted by the court in 2018. Human rights organization Ain O Salish Kendra (ASAK) has been providing legal assistance to Limon since the beginning of the incident.
